Entering the Imagination
Enlightenment is the state of irreversible creativity - Urgyen Sangharakshita
Join in this day retreat exploring how mindfulness can open up the expansive dimension of experience called ‘the imagination’. Over the day we’ll engage in a variety of mindfulness practices, reflections and creative explorations to access the potential of the imagination to awaken the heart, enrich our lives and give us fresh perspectives. No previous experience necessary, all welcome!
We will explore how imagination can be seen as an important aspect of spiritual life, especially as we approach it in Triratna. We will bring this alive in a variety of ways, such as:
- Focusing on the image of the tree and the experience of growth
- Sensory mindfulness practice
- Meditating with the imagination, using images
- A contemplative approach to images from art and poetry
- Drawing exercises (led by an expert, Amityajyoti!)
