Dharma Night
The Bodhisattva's Path
Our Dharma Night class explores aspects of the Buddhist vision, drawing on two and a half thousand years of teachings to find practical application in the modern world. Broadcast live from an in-person class in the LBC shrine room, with a Dharma talk, opportunities to get your questions answered, led meditation and ritual.
Buddhism has always believed in heroes. Heroes who put others before themselves or who dedicate their lives to the benefit of others. Throughout history we have benefited from heroes in lots of different fields. The Buddhist hero is the Bodhisattva, a being who dedicates their entire life to gaining Enlightenment for the sake of all living beings. There are multiple examples of Bodhisattvas throughout the Buddhist tradition but they all have one thing in common. They train in six qualities and they perfect these qualities until they are radical forces for good in the world. In these six weeks we will be looking at these qualities and seeing how the Buddhist hero uses them to transform the lives of beings around them.
