Meditation in Central London

Meditation techniques and Buddhist principles for anyone who wishes to attend and perhaps can't make the classes at our centre in Bethnal Green.

Every Saturday, just off St Martins Lane in central London, there is a drop-in teaching session between 1 and 2pm, where you can learn to meditate. Between 2.30 and 4pm there is a drop-in class for regulars who already know both meditation practices.

We also run meditation foundation courses here and this session we have a series of Saturday afternoon talks on Buddhism.

Meditation Classes

Meditation is a means to self-awareness, change, and spiritual insight. At any of these events you can learn one of the two fundamental Buddhist meditation practices: ‘The Mindfulness of Breathing’, which enhances our awareness and peace of mind; and ‘The Metta Bhavana’ – ‘the development of loving kindness’, which brings about a gentle but potentially radical transformation in our emotional experience.

MEDITATION COURSES

Buddhist Meditation Foundation Courses

Meditation is an art. Learning to meditate requires skill, patience and application. Our foundation courses provide a thorough grounding in how to work effectively with your thoughts and emotions. You learn ways of concentrating your mind, being less distracted and becoming calmer. Buddhist meditation starts with relaxation but goes far beyond that. The courses include a meditation diary – a practical, day-by-day guide in the principles of meditation.
